Luke Watson Controversy

On Saturday night, controversy in South African Rugby continued with the squad of 45 players being enlarged to 46 players to accomodate Luke Watson. Aparently, this was the doing of South African Rugby Union president Oregan Hoskins, due to pressure from politicians.
Springbok coach Jake White was not consulted on this change and is seeking legal advice according to reports.
Although it looks like a bit of a circus, SARB aproves the inclusion of Watson.

Well you okes thought Watson was such a great player – he is NOW in the squad and cannot keep up with the work rate required. Watch him in the tri nations (if he get a game) and compare to the other squads. This guy is just a political pawn and if he had an ounce of dignity would step out of the way for players that are clearly more impressive than him on and off the field

I think that Watson only way to make the Bok team is to make it political .That is Luke him self and his father . Lots of player for instance Habana is not a problem and we love him but Luke is just not the right player for the Boks and he play prity avarage in the team . His attack on the Afrikaans part of south -Africa is tipical and political motivated , Easy to forget that it is the same Engelish people how fight the Zulu`s and killed 1000`s of women and children and know His tipe try to blame Afrikaans people for his poor performance and the Springbok Emblem
Luke you are out of line and a poor loser and most of all you are no Springbok , You are ther because you are politicaly empower and are not up to it to make it on merrits

Luke Watson is a racist, unless he apologises in regards with his statement that ‘the problem with SA rugby is that it is controlled by dutchmen’. He is overrated, Spies and kankowski are much better players.
October 12th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
We the so called “dutch mann” supported you all the way, but it seems Jake was right. You are not fit to play in any team and we are not talking about provinsional or international. Maybe you would qualify for kindergarten if you are lucky. Sorry Jake you were right and cool that he has been dropped from captaincy from WP. Now please drop him as player so he can play for the arse creepers national side.
Very disapointed when you want to watch rugby and all you get is politics to gain acceptance.

It seems our little hero has finally hanged himself. Any player that trashes an emblem dear to most of the countries hearts does not deserve a place in the national team or in the provincial team. Cheers Luke Stofile….

Luke Watson should be stripped of his Springbok colours. He first of all did not deserve to be a Springbok and only got the position throught his fathers political connections and he has no respect for the colours or anyone that deserved and earned the colours before him irrespective of their race or colour or sport in which they have earned it

Koebaai go man, you dont deserve to be longer in this country anyway. Before you go, stop feeling sorry for yourselves. Go on a lifeskill course. Spoilt brat.
October 20th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Do I even need to leave a comment. The entire nation pretty much hates him and the worst part is that it was always like that not because of his statements “that just is normal for that family”.
He always wanted to be in the lime light so now he is – not for being the best but for being the worst, most hated and biggest joke
Hate to be your dad

Luke You cannot be serious! Why did you try for Springbok colours if you detest it so much? Are you a masochist? You definitely need couselling!

Luke my boy, you have made the biggest mistake in your life by bringing racism into rugby. I am a “dutchman” but I am not a racist. I love every single player in the Springbok rugby team and every other team in this country, especially the Blue Bulls. Rugby is a great game and you don’t deserve to play for South Africa. I hope no-one in Europe takes you on, they don’t know what they are in for. And as for your daddy saying you belong in this country, no, no, no, no!!!! Get out!

Luke Watson is something decent in SA rugby. When all over the world rugby people know what a terrible past your country have had. ie;( demanding Maori and Island players could not come to SA with the All Blacks ) I was so happy when SA came back into world rugby. But it only happened because of guys like Luke and his Dad.
What great men. Lets move forward, and stop all this hate. Get on with the game.
