SA team to face Austalia

Tri Nations

The Springbok side to face Australia on Saturday at Newlands has been announced and there is no doubt that Jake White has picked his strongest available team.

The side is: 15.Percy Montgomery, 14.Ashwin Willemse, 13.Jaque Fourie, 12.Jean de Villiers, 11.JP Pietersen, 10.Butch James, 9.Ruan Pienaar, 8.Pierre Spies, 7.Juan Smith, 6.Schalk Burger, 5.Victor Matfield, 4.Bakkies Botha, 3.BJ Botha, 2.John Smit(captain), 1.Guthro Steenkamp

Reserves: 16.Gary Botha, 17.CJ van der Linde, 18.Johann Muller, 19.Danie Rossouw, 20.Micheal Claassens, 21.Wynand Olivier, 22.Francois Steyn

SARB agrees with this team 100% and approves of the inclusion of the three non-white players in the starting XV. It is satisfactory to note that these players are there on merit and not used for political gain.

Add to this team injured stars like Bryan Habana and Fourie du Preez and the Boks must certainly have a chance to win the Tri-Nations.

where is the much talked about transformation team?
where are all the qouta players that are ment to satisfy the ANC, end SARU, no wonder Jake is getting so much flak, if he abides with these rules then clearly he won’t need to worry to much about SARU and that other prick meddeling into his affairs.

but ja what ever happened to the coach being able to voice his own opinion. and choose a team that isn’t demographicaly motivated.

anyhow how can SARU stop Jake from seeing the President.

How can a department stop an employee from seeing the boss?

What about a Qouta system in soccer (min 3 whites excl goaly)

    cheers

Jake White knows what he’s doing! The politicians should leave him alone so that he can do his job and bring home the World Cup, then everybody will be happy. It is about time that SA sides win something and the rugby side has the best chance(its not like our soccer side can win anything!!!!!!)

ja i agree the soccer already has all the finacial support political support

the only problem is that there is so many “luke watsons” in Soccer that our national side actual is too crap.

now imagine if rugby had a coach that is paid more than the presidant.

keep the current system and just make the two entities seperate, give the politicians their black side with a black coach and black support, then ,make them play under a different league ie agaist only the A teams of other teams, then they can call it what ever they want… and then watch as the team play in townships on soccer pitches… ( but wait there once was a team simmilar to this, execpt were they called the Southern Spears)

THEN u give jake total control over the over side, he can be the president, coach everything… however they play under the springbok emblem, he can choose whoever he wants, the sides will be completely judged on merrit. the players will be paid accourding to the way they play. (that would be a dream world) and then watch as they beat any and every team.

What is wrong with the govt… u cant have the national sport of the country controlled by some idiot in parliament, esp when he was the previous minister of transport. what does he possibly know about how the sports works, besides how to completely mess up the national side right before a World Cup

I agree, give Jake total control to pick the side on merit and there will be players of colour in the team anyway, i.e. Bryan Habana and Guthro Steenkamp that are considered among the best in the world in their positions! the gonernment should stick to what they know(or pretend to know) and leave sports to the people like Jake that knows what they are doing
