Tags: No Tags.Jake White picked his strongest available combination for the World Cup warmup match taking place on Wednesday evening at Newlands in Cape Town. This will also be the first official test between SA and Namibia.
SA is expected to beat Namibia convincingly, so White can only hope that his players come through the game injury free and that his combinations start gelling quickly. The game is also important for players like Fourie du Preez and John Smit to gain match fitness after long injury lay-offs.
SA squad to face Namibia: 15. Percy Montgomery, 14. Ashwin Willemse, 13. Jaque Fourie, 12. Jean de Villiers, 11. JP Pietersen, 10. Butch James, 9. Fourie du Preez, 8. Jacques Cronje, 7. Juan Smith, 6. Schalk Burger, 5. Victor Matfield, 4. Bakkies Botha, 3. CJ van der Linde, 2. John Smit(captain), 1. Os du Randt
reserves: 16. Gary Botha, 17. BJ Botha, 18. Johann Muller, 19.Albert van den Berg, 20. Enrico Januarie, 21. Ruan Pienaar, 22. Akona Ndugane
Players that are missing the game due to injury niggles: Wikus van Heerden, Danie Rossouw, Bob Skinstad, Btyan Habana and Frans Steyn. These players are expected to be fit in time and will hopefully play against Scotland on the 25th of August in the next warm up game. Jacques Cronje is only helping out in this game and he is on the reserves list for the World Cup Squad.
