The Cheetahs can count themselves very lucky after struggling against Boland in Wellington on Saturday.

After the Boland lost their first game against the Cheetahs by 91-3, nobody gave them much of a chance againt the unbeaten team from Bloemfontein and for the majority of the first half it looked like the Cheetahs were on their way to another easy victory. Two quick tries by Boland, one before and the second just after half time, and a penalty saw them leading by 20-19. A late penalty by Willem de Waal gave the lead back to the Cheetahs and they managed to scrape home 22-20. Deon Davids, Boland coach, was very proud of his team afterwards and praised their efforts against the top team in the Currie Cup.
