The Lions kept their semi-final dreams alive by defeating WP at Ellispark on Saturday.

Both teams played highly entertaining rugby, displaying a willingness to run the ball from anywhere on the field. Solid defence by both teams, and bad finishing, lead to only two tries being scored. The Lions started the better of the two teams and took a 6-0 lead early in the first half, but Province stuck to their guns and scored a great try just before half time to take the lead into the change rooms. After half time it was much of the same with both teams playing attractive running rugby at times just to be denied scoring by solid defence. The teams traded penalties and with Province leading 16-12 with 12 minutes left the Lions scored a converted try to take the lead, which they held until the final whistle went. Final score: Lions 19 - WP 16.
