The Hurricanes came from behind to beat the Reds, thanks to a great try by Ma’a Nonu. Nonu produced a great display of power and pace and proved that he is still one of the best attackers in the game.

The Reds started the better of the 2 sides and had a 10-3 lead after the first 15 minutes. The ‘Canes slowly got back into the game as their forwards started to take control of the game, but they still had to wait until late in the second half to seal their first victory in the 2008 Super14 competition. The Reds did manage to earn a bonus point for losing by less than seven points, but both teams will have to improve if they want to be serious contenders for the Super14 crown.
