The Crusaders extended their unbeaten run in the 2008 Super14 competition to 6 games in a row when they saw off a spirited Waratahs side. The Crusaders went out to a 6-0 lead, but a converted try for the Waratahs gave them a 7-6 lead with half an hour left on the clock. The Crusaders never panicked though, and switched to a higher gear when it mattered. The next 30 minutes saw the Crusaders take control of the game, scoring 4 tries for the bonus point and a faultless kicking display by Dan Carter saw them home to a comfortable victory in the end. Final score: Crusaders 34 Waratahs 7
