The Cheetahs are still looking for their first win of the 2008 Super14 competition after going down to the Waratahs. The ‘Tahs made all the early running in the game but failed to convert their early dominance into points. When they did finally get points on the board it looked like they would romp home as they raced to a 20-7 lead. The Cheetahs made a spirited comeback in the second half and closed the gap to just 1 point with about 10 minutes left. The Waratahs slotted a penalty to take the lead out to 4 points and the ‘Tahs held on to the lead until the final whistle. Final score: Waratahs 23 Cheetahs 19
