The Crusaders managed to hang on to a first half lead to see off a determined Hurricanes team. The Crusaders scored 2 tries to 1 and had a healthy 17-3 lead at half time. The ‘Canes came back strongly in the second half but the Crusaders managed to hold out. They did pay a price for the victory though, star flyhalf Dan Carter will be out of action for between 2 and 6 weeks with an ankle injury. Final score: Crusaders 20 Hurricanes 13
