The Hurricanes managed to keep their hopes of a home semi final in the 2008 Super14 alive by beating the Western Force. The game was played in very testing conditions, with rain the whole game. This made sure that the game was far from an attractive affair. The Hurricanes did outscore the Force by two tries to one and they dominated territory and possession for most of the game. The ‘Canes now play the Blues in their final group game and a win will secure them a home semi final. The Force plays their last game against the Brumbies and this will just be for pride. Final score: Hurricanes 21 Force 10.
