The Blues staged a fantastic comeback to keep their play-off hopes alive. The Blues were trailing the Hurricanes by 14-3 midway through the first half, and looked down and out. The match was played with test match intensity, with both teams sporting a number of current All Black test players. The Hurricanes scored two tries to one and had a number of opportunities towards the end to seal the victory, but the Blues kept their cool and thanks to the boot of Nick Evans came from behind to claim the victory.
